I had browsed about a year or two ago Sherman Jackson’s Islam and the Blackamerican. Perhaps because I was expecting it to be a historical book, I found it not interesting. But recently I revisited his book after acquiring the necessary background understanding on contemporary issues of Muslims in America, and I come to realize how compelling it is when read as a polemical book to perscribe the Blackamerican Muslim. There are a few things I will comment on it, so look forward to that.
